Just in time for Valentine's Day, I wanted to share one of my favorite DIY floral arranging tips: tape!
This trick is especially handy for getting flowers to stand up exactly how you want them to in a wide-mouthed vase.
Create a lattice work of tape over the top of your vase or container. You can vary the width of the tape and the size of the lattice work depending on the volume and types of flowers & stems you will be using.
You can also poke holes in the tape with a sharp object (scissors, knife tip) and stick a stem through for exact positioning.

In this example, I used tulips, but "fluffy" flowers (think: carnations, daisies, mums) look rather sophisticated when presented in a closely packed bunch-and they hide the tape well!
Using a single flower, or a single color for the entire arrangement is another great way to achieve a professional look at home.
