Simple Giving: Flower Arranging with Tape!

Just in time for Valentine's Day, I wanted to share one of my favorite DIY floral arranging tips: tape!
This trick is especially handy for getting flowers to stand up exactly how you want them to in a wide-mouthed vase.

Create a lattice work of tape over the top of your vase or container. You can vary the width of the tape and the size of the lattice work depending on the volume and types of flowers & stems you will be using.

You can also poke holes in the tape with a sharp object (scissors, knife tip) and stick a stem through for exact positioning.
In this example, I used tulips, but "fluffy" flowers (think: carnations, daisies, mums) look rather sophisticated when presented in a closely packed bunch-and they hide the tape well!
Using a single flower, or a single color for the entire arrangement is another great way to achieve a professional look at home.

Need a little inspiration? Check out how they arrange flowers in Brussels...(ignore the scary looking babydoll at the beginning...). Warning: don't try this at home!

  1. LOVE this post!! Just in time for the Valentine flowers...which if I don't receive ...I will purchase myself! ha! As always...
    Thank you for your inspiration!!

  2. Hey, this is so nice post on flower arrangements with tape. I recently bought a bouquet for my best friend from online NYC Flower Delivery shop. All flowers were carefully handpicked and arranged in rainbow themed bouquet. She loved that a lot.
